Been busy

Simon had a busy weekend. He had a soccer game at Brewer High School on Friday night (they lost); woke up bright and early on Saturday to serve pancakes at Applebee's for his soccer team fundraiser. After that, he and his friends went and played tennis. Just when I thought he was settled in for the night, he asked to go to the movies with his friends Kori and Drew.

We got up early this morning and took all of the boys to Sunday school. After Sunday school, I took the boys to Noccalula Falls. It's one of Cabe and Coles favorite spots to go. They enjoyed showing Simon around. We got to hike a bit, climb some and even cross over the river by scaling across a fallen tree!! After the falls, we headed to Academy Sports and did a little shopping.

It was a beautiful weekend full of sunshine and warm weather!

One more week of school until spring break!! Simon gets to go in at 10:46 every morning this coming week because the high school is giving graduation placement tests for the 10th graders. Simon is pretty excited to be able to sleep in this week!!

Michigan friends

It was a fun-filled and busy weekend with our friends, Dickie and Barb, and their 2 boys, Jac and Ben. They live in Michigan but Dickie had a job interview at the Huntsville office. We are all hoping he gets offered a position with Denny's company so that they can move to Guntersville!!!

Cabe had a double header baseball game tonight and his team won both of their games against DAR.

Simon had a soccer game tonight against Crossville. They won!!!!

Another gift from France

Well I finally have a free moment to write in my blog! I'm waiting for Cabe to finish up with baseball practice. We got a package in the mail from Simon's parents again today. It was a bottle of very, very nice wine and also some items to give to the grandparents. I can't say what they are because I know that my mom and Denny's mom both read this blog!!! I guess they will have to wait until we see them!!

The boys are all doing well and Simon is fitting into America just like he's lived here his whole life. I don't know how I'm going to manage having to put him on the plane to go back to his home :( I'm sure Carole and Stephan and maybe even his brothers are really starting to miss him. I'm sure there's a lot of comfort in knowing that he is in loving and caring hands.

Well, Simon is still looking for that prom date! Anyone out there that knows a single 11th or 12th grader, let me know and I will start the screening process, haha!!

2 wins and a loss

Cabe won both of his games tonight, while Simon lost his.

We have our very good friends from Michigan coming to visit us on Thursday. I can't wait to see them. I think it's been at least 2 years since we've seen them!

Gotta get some sleep! Short and sweet! Everyone is doing great!!

We survived!!

We survived the storms!!! No damage here in Guntersville but a lot of damage all around us!

Happy Birthday Cabe!!

Today is my baby boy's 13th birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CABE! I couldn't be a prouder mother of this little guy. He has turned out to be a terrific kid! I know these teenage years are supposed to be a trying time for parents, so I hope and pray that he continues to make smart choices in life and it leads him into a fabulous adulthood.

Simon WON his soccer game last night against Priceville. The team went to The Huddle House restaurant to celebrate. Cabe's team lost their game, but not by much.

We are having some bad weather today. The kids are getting released from school at 1:00 due to the threat for tornados. We have the safest spot in town down in our storm shelter that we have turned into our home gym. The house was purposefully built with a shelter for bad weather.

Hopefully the storm will clear so that we can take Cabe to his favorite restaurant for dinner!
